They seemed rather unsure. I thought he didn't have virtualisation enabled. An error message saying "wrong VB version" would have been nice. What a waste of an afternoon. |

So what do your computers come up with when you look at their details on the website of another VB project, say LHC? Not much, they just don't give me any work. I don't worry about getting work from either of those projects since it seems you have to hump thru 20 different hoops to get your box's to run their Wu's. I was not told I was banned, just no tasks available. The top contributor Mikey has more than one host running a task at once. So it must be possible.I seem to be stuck on one task per account, not client. I attached 8 machines at once. All but one did something weird and claimed it couldn't contact the server, but continued to talk to it, asked twice, then got told off for last request too recent. One got a task, then since then the other hosts have just been told "got 0 new tasks" as though there's none available.Yes I already mentioned that above. Looks like all unique PCs to me https://uspex-at-home.ru/prediction/hosts_user.php?userid=84 "Not accepting requests from this host" = ban |

No, on the host page, like this: https://uspex-at-home.ru/prediction/show_host_detail.php?hostid=34So what do your computers come up with when you look at their details on the website of another VB project, say LHC?Not much, they just don't give me any work. That's one of your machines here, it's saying you didn't turn virtualisation on in the BIOS. Or you're using a Hyper-V thing in Windows which interferes with it. I can't find you on LHC to check. I don't worry about getting work from either of those projects since it seems you have to hump thru 20 different hoops to get your box's to run their Wu's.They're no more difficult than any other VB project. And what are you doing on LHC dev if you're not interested? |

Yes, he has many computers, so do I. What's your point?I was not told I was banned, just no tasks available. The top contributor Mikey has more than one host running a task at once. So it must be possible.Looks like all unique PCs to me "Not accepting requests from this host" = banI've never seen that text anywhere. Anyway I found the problem, you need VB 7, not 5. |

Check yourself before you wreck yourself.Sorry I only speak English. You won't run a few commands given to you to run LHC native apps.A few? Pages of them, all referring to other pages, and needing me to look up all sorts of Linux commands. No thanks, I use a proper OS. As for my comment to Steve, LHC is not difficult to run in Windows. Like here, install VB, install Boinc, attach to project. Where install means double click a file, not type in commands like it was 1990 and I'm back to using DOS. And why did you deliberately hide your computers? |

You can't understand simple English. I said "Mikey has more than one host running a task at once". I never suggested he ran two clients on one computer. I was discussing why one of my computers got tasks, but all of his did.Yes, he has many computers, so do I. What's your point?I was not told I was banned, just no tasks available. I was able to get work from the LHC Project, but it was on the same Box that gets work from here. None of the other box's have been able to get any work from LHC or lhc-dev ... If you can't get work here or on LHC, that pretty much confirms that CPU virtualization (or Virtual Box) is not working properly. Open a Command Prompt (or hold the Windows key and press R) and run appwiz.cpl In the Programs and Features window, click on "Turn Windows features on or off" on the left side. In the features list, make sure that Hyper-V and Windows Hypervisor Platform are both disabled. They can both be useful tools in some situations, but they interfere with VirtualBox. You might have to reboot for the changes to take effect. Try getting work from LHC and USPEX again. If it still says that virtualization is not enabled and you can't get work, uninstall VirtualBox and download and install VirtualBox 7. Version 6.1.34 also works since I still have it running on a laptop and it is happily processing USPEX and LHC Dev tasks, but you might as well get the newest version unless you have a specific reason not to. |

You might have to reboot for the changes to take effect.. Didn't show Hyper-V & Windows Hypervisor Platform was already unchecked. I already had VBox 7 installed, so nothing changed, still can't get work on those Box's ,,, Thanks |

Ok lots of people are struggling .... I have 3 fairly old Window OS boxes all running work 1 task at a time on the project. Feel free to look at my computers they are available to be seen. To restate things in a different perspective... Many of you have said my PC has this or that loaded or enabled etc... What is important is what this project "thinks" you have loaded or enabled . I suggest that you go to your account on this project and show your computers..... once your computers that have been attached pop up... one at a time click the "details" at the far left on the screen and this will show you everything that the Project thinks each PC has and is configured with and enabled. Everyone needs to slow down and take a breath... This is not a mission critical life or death situation. And no one should be rude and everyone needs to be a little more understanding. We are all part of the distributive computing family. Forgive me all to hell for not asking your permission if I could join the LHC Dev BOINC Project ...You said "I don't worry about getting work from either of those projects", yet you managed to get a dev account. I run LHC regulary on 12 machines, yet I don't get dev. No idea where to even ask. |

Please drop the term being bounced around "Banned" The fact that you can Post messages and communicate your frustrations means you are not Banned. People who are excessively disruptive can be Banned... and then they are "gone"Hosts being banned is not the same as users being banned. Rosetta would ban hosts from their VB tasks if they failed a certain number. You could manually reset the ban in the computer's details screen on the website once you think you've fixed the problem of VB not working. Some projects will limit your host to one task at a time if they've been failing a lot, until such time as they successfully complete one. On this project hosts do not get banned. Well mine haven't, even when they kept asking for work and didn't have VB version 7. Users being banned, that never happens, they only get banned from the forum. No project has ever banned even me from running tasks. They don't want to lose computing power, and the Boinc server probably doesn't even have that function. And anyway there's nothing to stop you just calling yourself by another name! They even suggest it in the last rule: "If your account is banned don't create a new one" - pretty much inviting you to do it. |

Doing that, it needs an invitation code. I'm guessing you can't remember yours.... There's Xtrack (for the future circular collider) coming soon on there, non-VB, and possibly GPU! |

Yea, I also have a machine that cannot get tasks. It is the latest BOINC and VBOX versions. And yes, virtualization is turned on. And yes, BOINC does see that box is installed. All the rest of my similar machines get tasks no problem. This one machine of mine still cannot get work: https://uspex-at-home.ru/prediction/show_host_detail.php?hostid=83 Getting that "can't resolve host name" error message. Virtualization is turned on in the BIOS, and that is confirmed looking at Task manager showing virtualization is enabled. The BOINC client event log shows that the BOINC client sees that vbox7 is installed. However, the host details on the server side says "Virtualbox (7.0.10) installed, CPU does not have hardware virtualization support". So I thought maybe there is something wrong with a windows setting. I followed the instructions here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/enable-virtualization-on-windows-11-pcs-c5578302-6e43-4b4b-a449-8ced115f58e1. I turned on "Virtual Machine Platform", but that did not fix the problem. I also double checked that hyper-v was unchecked in both places. I have come to the conclusion that the problem is on the server side, not the client side. This is something the project admin is going to have to address, and nothing more to be done on the client side. |

I checked but you have 258 hosts over there!! Does LHC report you have it enabled? If it's this one, they say you do, or did last time you connected there: https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/show_host_detail.php?hostid=10830744 |
