Is there anything special this project needs to get work from ??? I have 7 Box's attached but only 1 of them gets any work, and even then only if I shut off any other work & do a manual update. All the box's have at least 8 to 64 GB of Memory. Even if I shut off work on the other Box's they simply won't download any work from this Project just the same box will ... Thanks |

Project is Windows only and your host that gets work have this: virtualbox (7.0.6) installed, CPU has hardware virtualization support and it is enabled the others not. and that may be the cause. |

Yeah it's probably the "CPU has hardware virtualization support and it is enabled" if anything because I see others getting work with virtualbox 6.0 installed so I don't think it's that. I looked in the BIOS on several of the other Box's but there doesn't appear there is any way of Enabling Hardware Virtualization Support" ... |

Project is Windows only I think you're right. I upgraded from virtualbox 5.1 to virtualbox 7.0.10 and I get wu. 15 Sep 2023, 18:28:05 UTC 18 Sep 2023, 18:28:05 UTC En cours --- --- --- Virtual Machine with 4 GB available memory v1.08 (vbox64_60_4G) |

Due to the peculiarities of using virtualization technology, the following approach is used: one task per computer at a fixed point in time. In the future, we plan to try an approach with two or more tasks per computer at a fixed point in time. |

Due to the peculiarities of using virtualization technology, the following approach is used: One task per BOINC client. A PC can run more than 1 task at a time. |

Due to the peculiarities of using virtualization technology, the following approach is used: yes, with applications with 4Gio and 6Gio ram, it limits the number of wu. |

Yea, I also have a machine that cannot get tasks. It is the latest BOINC and VBOX versions. And yes, virtualization is turned on. And yes, BOINC does see that box is installed. All the rest of my similar machines get tasks no problem. |

Due to the peculiarities of using virtualization technology, the following approach is used:I seem to be stuck on one task per account, not client. I attached 8 machines at once. All but one did something weird and claimed it couldn't contact the server, but continued to talk to it, asked twice, then got told off for last request too recent. One got a task, then since then the other hosts have just been told "got 0 new tasks" as though there's none available. |

I see this on 3 of my Box's that I think should be getting work from the project but they don't "Virtualization Virtualbox (7.0.6) installed, CPU does not have hardware virtualization support" I'm not sure if thatis telling me I don't have VT Enabled which I do because I've checked several times on those Box's or that the CPU actually don't support VT ... I've checked online & those CPU are supposed to support it so not really sure why they get that line for VT ... Could be because they are Laptops, but the lone Box I do get work on is a laptop too ... |

Do other projects say you don't have it on? |

Due to the peculiarities of using virtualization technology, the following approach is used: It uses nowhere close to that and much less than some apps that aren't vbox. There should be no limit on number of tasks. It makes me wonder what is going on in vbox that they are hiding and don't want more than 1 task running per PC. |

I also tried a 2nd client and it was banned. |

I was not told I was banned, just no tasks available. The top contributor Mikey has more than one host running a task at once. So it must be possible.I seem to be stuck on one task per account, not client. I attached 8 machines at once. Looks like some stupid Boinc bug, I get "Scheduler request to url failed: Couldn't resolve host name", which is absolute garbage. If the host name couldn't be resolved, how am I posting in here from the same computer? And how does Boinc immediately talk to the server it can't resolve? |

You have to switch it on in the BIOS, have you done so? Do other projects say you don't have it on? It's turned on, says VT Enabled, nothing more I can do. Config file is set to 0 for V_Box also ... |

Odd, all I've ever done is turn it on in the BIOS, then install Virtualbox. I've heard people saying the windows Hyper-X (?), whatever the MS rival is called gets in the way. A software controlled alternative that can't run at the same time. You have to switch it on in the BIOS, have you done so? Do other projects say you don't have it on?It's turned on, says VT Enabled, nothing more I can do. Config file is set to 0 for V_Box also ... So what do your computers come up with when you look at their details on the website of another VB project, say LHC? |

Fixed my can't get tasks problem. This project does not like Virtualbox version 5. I upgraded to 7 and it's ok. Cosmology only likes 5, it can get lost. Of course a message telling me I needed version 7 would have been nice. I only found out by chance because I had one machine on version 7. |
